Sqlite?

Postby gentlegiant2 » Wed Feb 03, 2010 12:13 pm

Hi,

will you support the use of sqlite(isn't it built in since php5?) as an alternative to storing the data in files(if you don't want to use a mysql database that is)? Cause i think it would be pretty neat for smaller sites that don't have to scale in anyway.
Thanx for an awesome cms system.

Welcome gentlegiant2! Thank you for the kind words!

As for your inquiry, if it's a smaller to medium sized site, I would simply recommend using the default flat file storage system. It's extremely fast and robust (speed being comparable to that of a static page, allowing you to be dugg etc with much less harm to your server resources); and in many cases 4-10x faster than any equivalent database system you will find out there (depending on the size and structure of your website).

The database capabilities are mostly there for compatibility purposes and to give the developer more options!
